TODAY WOULD HAVE BEEN GRANDPA MARTIN'S 100th BIRTHDAY

It's hard to believe but Grandpa Martin would have been a 100 year old leprachan today if God had not called him home to heaven 12 years ago.

Below you'll find Isaac's tribute to Grandpa which was read at his memorial service.

Mr. Harold Martin, Age 88...enters into Heaven with the Blessing of his Grandchildren...
Grandpa, As children we watched you and we learned from you. And we knew that you could do anything. As young adults we watched your body grow frail, but still we knew that you could do anything. For weakness in the body will always fade against the strength of love. You displayed us to your friends, your pride made us proud to be your trophies--to be the spoils of your victory. You recited poem after poem to make us laugh, and we did. Whoever said your mind was growing weak, must never have sat at your feet and listened to your limericks and your poetry. Your memory was an iron trap.Grandpa, stand tall. We can see you now running up golden stairs. We see you shining in the sun. And as you are washed clean and made whole in crystal waters, remember only how much we loved you. And we will remember how much you loved us. And as you stand face to face with Jesus, do not be ashamed, do not be afraid. Know that we, your grandchildren, are standing at your side as proof that your human life was full and that your human life was lived in service to your God. Enter into forever, knowing that your forever begins with our blessing. Know that now, you can do anything.P.S. Give grandma a great big hug and kiss for us.--Isaac Martin, 4/24/96
