SLOW DOWN AND LOOK FOR THE "STAR " !

AS WE TRAVEL THIS SEASON OF LIFE

DON'T LET US TRAVEL TOO FAR

LET US TAKE TIME TO THINK AND TO PONDER

HELP US SLOW DOWN AND LOOK FOR THE "STAR"

WE GET SO BUSY AND FRANTIC

THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS WE MAR

WE FORGET TO LOOK UP AND REMEMBER

TO SLOW DOWN AND LOOK FOR THE "STAR"

WHO IS THIS "STAR" THAT WE LOOK FOR?

WHO IS THE MAN OF THE HOUR?

IT'S JESUS CHRIST OUR DEAR SAVIOR

WHO ONE DAY WILL COME WITH GREAT POWER.

AGAIN LET US REMEMBER

DON'T LET US TRAVEL TOO FAR

LET US TAKE TIME TO PONDER

LET US SLOW DOWN AND LOOK FOR THE "STAR".

CHOOSE LIFE !!!

"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live."
Deuteronomy 30:19

Today we had our holiday luncheon for our Kaiser Volunteers at the Marriott in Woodland Hills. I was asked to share some inspirational words and I chose the theme:
"Celebrate Life"

I started by saying that all of us are celebrating some special day during this time of year including Christmas ,Hanukkah and the New Year.

My encouragement to them was to celebrate family; celebrate friends; and celebrate faith. By doing so we are truly celebrating life.

Then I read the following poem:

Celebrate Life!!!
(Author Unknown)

I woke up early today....excited about all that I get to do before midnight....
I have responsibilities to fulfill that are important. My job is to choose what kind of day I'll have....
Today I can complain because it is raining.... or I can be thankful the grass is getting watered for free!
Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money....or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste!
Today I can grumble about my health.... or rejoice that I am alive!
Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up....or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born!
Today I can cry because roses have thorns....or I can celebrate that thorns have roses!
Today I can mourn my lack of friends.... or I can excitedly embark upon a quest to discover new relationships!
Today I can whine because I have to go to work....or I can shout for joy because I have a job to do!
Today I can complain because I have to go to school.... or I can eagerly open my mind and fill it with rich new knowledge!
Today stretches ahead of me, waiting to be shaped.... I am the sculptor, ready to do the shaping....
What today is like is up to me because I get to choose what kind of day Iwill have..........

Celebrate Life!!!

THE CRISPNESS OF CHRISTMAS

While walking out of the hospital entrance this afternoon I said to a friend how much I loved the crispness in the air and he responded by saying I love "Christmas in the air" too. So from that thought I wrote this poem.

I love the feeling of Christmas in the air

The biting cold, the nipping fingers

There's nothing to compare.

Through out the days while traveling all round

It's beautiful to see the frost lay upon the ground.

There's something pure and enchanting as you stand out in the cold

By allowing winters whiteness around you to enfold.

I love the crisp clear nights and the frosting mornings too.

It feels like God is making all things around us new

The crispness of Christmas is a favorite time for me

As we decorate and celebrate Christ's nativity.

God bless you in this moment as you think of God's dear son

The life he lived , the death he died and for your victory won.

Enjoy the winter whiteness and clothe yourself with love.

Enjoy your Father's blessings as He bestows them from above.
